Hunter Douglas Contract Introduces Natura Wood Panels (release)
01 June, 2007

Norcross, GA (June 1, 2007) -- Hunter Douglas Contract introduces Natura Wood Tile Systems, a new line of wood ceiling and wall panels appropriate for a wide range of horizontal and vertical applications. Natura systems feature 18 wood veneers ranging from the traditional Birch, Eucalyptus and Walnut, to the exotic including Coigue, Curupixa, Manio, Markore, Sucupira and Sapelli. Each can be customized with six stains from light oak to deep mahogany. Perforations and grooves are available in a variety of sizes and designs for maximum decorative choices and enhanced acoustical performance.

The Natura system allows for seamless integration of ceiling and wall panels for clean, smooth applications. Wall panels clip onto a surface mounted track that secures them vertically, while ceiling panel installation uses a standard T-grid with a lay in or semi-concealed option.

?Natura Wood Tile Systems are another beautiful yet functional option that designers and specifiers have come to expect from Hunter Douglas Contract,? said Kim Graaskamp, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hunter Douglas Contract ceilings division. ?The distinctive and durable wood panels offer many design options that add the warmth of real wood to any installation.?

Santiago, Chile?s Centro de Justicia showcases Natura wood ceilings and acoustical planks in its interior spaces. Notable for its architecture, the Santiago Judicial Center is a major new civic space with outstanding exterior and interior features. Chosen for its modern aesthetic, Natura adds to the Center?s natural palette of concrete and glass with exposed metal and wood. Natura?s visual effect, like the building operations, is elegant and efficient.(see Profiles issue #25)

Not only are Natura wood panels design-friendly, they are engineered for performance. Ceiling panels are available in 2? x 2? and 2? x 4? sizes and wall panels are available in a variety of additional sizes as well. Panels are finished on both sides to allow two-sided application and easy installation. Additionally they are Class A flame-retardant, promote superior indoor air quality, allow for full access to the plenum, and grid-options make the panels easy to remove and replace.
